Turf Care Hosts Inaugural Northern Lights Landscape Lighting Summit
August 26, 2026 - Turf Care Products Canada is hosting its inaugural Northern Lights Landscape Lighting Summit, a hands-on lighting event for professional landscape lighting designers unlike any anything currently offered in Canada. The Summit will take place at Credit Valley Golf & Country Club in Mississauga, Ontario, October 6-9, 2026, and is supported by Lumien Lighting.
Over the course of three days, a small group of designers will take over a championship golf course after dark, split into teams, and design, stage, and tune a full lighting scheme from scratch — then defend it in front of their peers. Space is limited to 30 participants.
Who's Teaching
Turf Care is bringing together three well respected names renowned in landscape lighting design working directly alongside attendees at the event:
- Jim Ply, Oak Crest Landscape Lighting — nearly 40 years in the trade, ILLI board member
- Wes Jackson, Jackson Lighting — VP of Jackson Lighting, ILLI and IES board member
- Jason Warren, Carolina Outdoor Lighting — award-winning designer and ILLI mentor
Combined with Turf Care's own staff from across Eastern Canada, the instructor lineup is intended to deliver what organizers describe as the most intensive lighting education experience hosted in Canada.
What to Expect
Three days are split between classroom time and working the course after sunset: fixture selection, controls and tuning; advanced design applied in real time; lighting mature tree canopy; and how to price and sell lighting to clients. It wraps with instructor critiques and a final reveal night where every team presents their work.
